Finch Emoji

This emoji series was created for a Discord server centered around the Finch: Self Care app. The server focused on collecting rare in-app items, so I designed the emojis to reflect the app’s cartoon bird mascot, but with added esoteric elements like purple robes to match the server’s theme. I worked to match the app’s established illustration style while adding original concepts. Each emoji was designed to remain visually clear and expressive at very small sizes, with legible text and strong contrast for both light and dark mode on Discord. I created over 50 custom emoji's for the server.

This series is fan art inspired by the Finch: Self Care app and its bird mascot. I created these illustrations to celebrate the app’s positive impact and playful design. While staying true to the original art style, I added my own creative touches to explore the characters in new and fun ways.

This piece started as a sketchbook drawing that I decided to develop digitally in Procreate. I used thick black lines, a style I had been exploring through my Sharpie monster drawings, and created a color palette that I’ve continued using in my digital work. The cigarettes were added to help build a circular composition.
