Mask
Cigarette

This mask was commissioned as part of a wearable costume for a music performer. It was designed for comfort and visibility, it allowed the wearer to play music while in full costume. The mask replicates a cigarette box and includes detailed references to the artist’s personal label design. I also created a glowing cigarette prop using fairy lights to complete the look and enhance stage presence.

Walking Home
, 2023
This mask was created in response to a personal experience. One night, after leaving a Halloween party at a bar, I realized how safe I felt walking home while wearing a scary mask I had made. It was the safest I’d ever felt walking alone at night as a woman.
That feeling inspired me to make a new mask that I could intentionally wear to feel protected. I designed it to be ambiguous, something that wouldn't immediately read as a mask, especially in the dark. I wanted it to evoke the uncanny: was it a face? a mask? a person? The not-knowing was meant to create even more fear, in hopes others would keep their distance.
The mask looks bloated, both healthy and sick, and emotionally neutral. I made it using papier-mâché, paint, and glossy Mod Podge to give it a fleshy, unsettling finish. This piece is about reclaiming fear as a form of protection.

This set of four handmade masks was created to wear to the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie premiere. I crafted them using cardboard, fabric, elastic, hot glue, paint, and resin. I sculpted a clay nose, then molded and repeatedly cast it in resin to give each nose a consistent, toy-like appearance.
The masks are inspired by a moment in the game series where four boys bully another while wearing masks of the main animatronics. In my narrative, these are those same masks (now old, withered, and decayed) visually reflecting that karmic justice has been enacted upon them. I designed them to resemble worn-out stuffed animals, as if they were once plush but slowly decayed over time.
Soul
, 2020

At the start of the pandemic, my friends and I would meet in the evenings (socially distanced) to read poetry and talk. To bring a sense of whimsy to our meetings, I had the idea to make us matching masks based on our favorite animals.
This mask, shaped like a moth, was the one I made for myself. I added lace and beading to give it a soft, delicate feel. It’s the only mask from the series I still have, and was able to photograph.
Work In Progress
, 2025
This project is a work-in-progress commission to create two full-body costumes based on cryptid legends: Bigfoot and Mothman. After finalizing the designs, I prepared a detailed supply list for the client with multiple price options, then began construction on the costumes.
Each mask started with a sturdy papier-mâché base. For Mothman, I sculpted custom eyes from polymer clay, made molds, and cast them in translucent red resin. When lit from behind, the eyes glow. I added layers of glitter to the resin to create a kaleidoscope-like bug-eye effect, then covered the mask in fabric to complete the look.
For Bigfoot, I created every strand of hair using wool fibers that I dyed, and then hand-painted. His skin was sculpted from homemade air-dry clay (a flour and glue mix), and his eyes were made from resin detailed with nail polish. Each strand of hair on the head was hand-sewn, with hidden sight holes placed in the nostrils and below the eyes for wearer visibility. I also began constructing oversized shoes from foam and canvas to complete the full-body look.
