This doll was an experiment in combining different textile techniques to create layered textures. I needle-felted wool into the fabric, then embroidered on top to add dimension and softness. For contrast, I hand-sewed buttons into the face as eyes, introducing a hard texture against the felted surface. I also knitted a pink sweater for the bear to wear, adding another soft element. Every part of the doll was made with intentional detail, so the owner could see it was made with care. I hoped that this visible, intentional care would increase the object’s sense of sentimentality.

I made this doll as a way to connect with and heal my inner child. I designed it to look like how my younger self might have imagined I’d grow up. She's feminine, soft, and has bright purple hair. Its long arms are meant for hugging (either you or itself} offering comfort and safety.
To me, this doll represents the version of myself that could protect the child still inside me. It’s about reparenting: becoming the adult I needed, and learning how to care for myself with the same love and softness I once longed for.

I made this doll as a gift for a friend to celebrate six months of sobriety. I wanted it to reflect their artistic, vibrant personality, so I focused on making it visually pleasant and full of character. I filled it with weighted beads to give it a comforting, grounding feel.
